What’s up with all the hostility, noob? Is this your first [DEL]sock[/DEL] time here?
You don’t belong here. You’ve been here less than a day, and you’ve already proven that pretty thoroughly.
You will be banned soon, I have no doubt.
She wasn’t a teenager.
She didn’t keep the stained dress “as a souvenir”. Admittedly the fact that she’d left it on the floor of her closet for a long time doesn’t speak well of her cleanliness but being a slob isn’t a crime either.
He didn’t need it, but the truth is the truth regardless. You seem triggered by it. Do you require a safe space?
You didn’t say “shouldn’t she be charged with XX and YY punishable by 8 years in prison?”
You do realize that your typed words are right there in this thread, I just have to scroll to see them again.
I know, that sack of crap has ruined the game of Bridge, but we’re talking about how dumb you are right now, let’s keep on track.
Perhaps it wasn’t the world jumping to the conclusion that Monica Lewinsky is a slut. Maybe it was Hillary Clinton telling everyone that she was a slut.
Those two things aren’t in conflict (and I don’t recall Hillary Clinton calling her a slut). Society’s treatment of Lewinsky demonstrated extreme misogyny, no matter how Hillary Clinton reacted.
Had Clinton not committed perjury/lied under oath about it, you’d be correct. The (attempted) coverup was worse than the “crime”.
You could have not participated in the crime. You could have proactively turned yourself in. When the PD started questioning people you could have sung like a canary. Instead you hid & hoped you wouldn’t be found. You played with matches & you got burned. Yeah, technically, it was your partner that caused you to get burned but you had ample opportunity to get away from the fire.
Yes, with the cooperation of support of feminist groups at the time.
And Hillary referred to Monica Lewinsky as “that woman” in a tone that implied that she placed a lot of the blame on the then 22 year old intern. Narcissistic looney tunes was another phrase that Hillary used to describe her. She made it more acceptable to call Monica Lewinsky a slut and whore and it’s ridiculous to think that Hillary didn’t give society a little bit of license to do do so.
So no it wasn’t just “society” doing what society does. It made a difference that the feminists circled the wagons around Bill Clinton and said whatever they had to say and threw who ever needed to be thrown under the bus to keep nominating liberal justices.
I don’t know what your point is – you’re not saying anything that conflicts with my points. There are plenty of threads to shit on Hillary Clinton – why does this need to be another one? Society treated Monica Lewinsky like garbage. So did many individuals and organizations within our society. The actions of Hillary Clinton nor some feminists do not exculpate the treatment of Lewinsky by society. Our society is profoundly misogynistic, and this is just another example, regardless of the actions of various individuals and organizations.
I’m sure that if you look, you can find somewhere else to place the goalposts.
I’m fully in favor of nobody calling Lewinsky a slut, except Hillary Clinton. She gets a pass for whatever she may have said about the Bill and Monica. If she said that woman and narcissistic nincompoop or whatever, that’s cool too.
If some 22 year old man exposed his erection to my wife in her office , and she laughed, let me tell you I wouldn’t let that be the end of it. And if my wife actually succumbed to his advances my family life as I know it, that I sacrificed so much for would be over. It would be even worse if the whole world found out about it. Calling him a prick or any other pejorative would be the least reaction that I would respond with.
I don’t care whether you are a man or a woman. If you try to be a home wrecker for your own selfish needs, being called a slut or a prick doesn’t begin to describe your character.
[sarcasm]Poor Monica. She should be given a pass. She’s only 22 years old and after all she is a woman and fragile.[/sarcasm]
Our resident redpillers are strong with their virtue signalling in this thread.
So brave!
I have no idea what that is supposed to mean.
The goalposts weren’t touched; I just took your [del]ball[/del] words & got three points with them. Slam dunk! (to mix-up metaphors)
She was not only a willing participant, she was the initiating participant in an affair with a famous, powerful married man. If she kept her mouth closed, either in the Oval Office or at lunch with Linda Tripp she wouldn’t be notorious. She caused her problems.
If one’s spouse succumbs to advances from a co-worker, then perhaps the problem is with the spousal relationship.
Oh good grief. The whole point isn’t that she didn’t do a shitty thing, or that she is entirely blameless of the situation. It’s that she, a person who was not married and bares zero responsibility for Bill and his marriage, had sex with a man who WAS married, and who WAS responsible for his own marriage. And yet, most of the blame is consistently pointed at her. Why? Because ‘she seduced him, the evil, sexy wench’, because men are (apparently) animals who are helpless to control their sexual urges :rolleyes::rolleyes:
If Monica is not entirely blameless of the situation , then what do you say she is to be blamed for given she bears zero responsibility for risking Bill’s marriage ?
She not responsible for risking Bill’s marriage (that’s all on Bill). She is responsible for risking her own career.
