Monty Python and the Holy Grail

I’m no huge fan, but I’ve always enjoyed MP when I catch it. Recently, a friend offered me a free ticket to the live show, “Eric Idle Exploits Monty Python.”

It was dreadful! “Pathetic” and “embarassing” come to mind as well.

It’s a shame too, because there were moments that had real possibility that just got buried under horrible direction, scripting or acting. And, except for some of the musical numbers, EI’s talents are not very suited for a live stage setting.

I recall seeing a Simpson’s episode not too long ago where the opening couch gag was the MP Foot squashing it. I wasn’t expecting that.

I didn’t see the show, because I saw Comedy Central’s “special” on it. It looked just as stuyguy described it. Sad. Very sad.
