Moon equipment

Is any of the equipment we left on the moon still functioning or sending back data?

I don’t know about active equipment, but I do know that they left a mirror up there that astronomers still use to calibrate lasers, measure the distance from the earth to the moon, etc, etc.

Since the last Apollo mission was 1972(?) I would think that all of the equipment had ceased functioning. Besides, the intense solar radiation can’t be too good for any of it. Perhaps we should get Andy Griffith to and get it.

Although not the OP, I did here, on TLC?, that the moon rover could be used again if the batteries were replaced.

According to the NASA Apollo site, all of the ALSEP (Apollo Lunar Surface Experiments Package ) stations were shut down on September 30th, 1977.
