I will say that it was a bit of a relief when he came out and told us he was a troll. We’d suspected, of course, but it’s always so hard to tell for sure.
I was kinda disappointed myself. The last few moon hoaxers have all been trolls. It would be nice if we actually had a chance to fight some real ignorance for once.

When I joined Phil Plait’s presence assured me that this was a board I could live with, but I still like a good nutcase. Sorry I missed the latest, but basic trolls are boring. I want to see mild mental illness and OCD so I can laugh at them, though I will report those clearly a danger to themselves. I am glad we are being protected from the tedious, but I hope that our next carbonated pyramid nut will be allowed to fly his freak flag high.
I get tired of those that rehash crap we’ve already gone over time and time and time again-they seem to think that the discussion is somehow fresh because they are the ones bringing up these decades-old points. I would welcome some fresh nuttery around here.
I had a rather lengthy debate with someone who insisted the LM could not be manually landed, no matter how well trained and qualified the astronauts were. His main reason for thinking this was due to the mascons which he insisted were too disruptive during the final part of the landing. Pretty ridiculous but then he started spouting off some nonsense that commercial aircraft are always flying on autopilot above 30,000 ft because manual flight would be too difficult. I just gave up at that point but I think that’s the strangest one I’ve dealt with.
