Moon Mystery

That was not a political statement, it was a personal statement designed to get a rise out of you, and apparently it worked. As for the Norwegian chappy who does not like flags, as you can see , i too have little respect for them. Finally, as for the ignorance suggestion, i have probably read more ACTUAL BOOKS
than every one on this post put together. Ball-in-your-court.

Eeh! i`m a feisty fella!

Yes, i spotted that. If he meant it , it was almost funny!

You haven’t been here long enough to know how many books some of these people have read, but I’ve read your threads, and I’ve read their posts (in many threads) and I’ll say you are up against some heavy hitters in this thread alone.

P.S. All of them aren’t yanks

Go on then ill let them count e-books. Do you want to list yours first and ill tell you which ones ive read. Then ill do the same .At least SOME of your “fellow-threaders” are to say the least , very presumptious with thier remarks, so i`m not entirely convinced of your integrity.

Well here’s an index of 289 of the authors I’ve read books by, with links to lists of the books themselves, I think it’s about 1200, you can start by beating that, and then we’ll see how many of the other posters need to add their counts.

in case you had nt noticed i am a bit of a newbie so No, i hav nt read all your previous threads yet, but i`ll get round to it . I LIKE READING!

Let me get back to you. They are all in ENGLISH are n`t they?

Ive just had a brief glance sir, there was only 289 authors after all, and apart from the Nordic authors and a few of the others, im familiar with most of them authors and at least one of thier works. I cant prove it because i do nt keep lists like you. But let me give you an idea what you are up against. During my mis$pent youth, i was once a guest in one of her Majs hostels for 3 mth. In that time , i read EVERYTHING that was worth reading in that place and it was not a poorly stocked library. Its a shame i never kept my library ticket , because i could have put this whole debate to bed then!

By the way . Some interesting choices on your list!

Lesson number one :Do not make assumptions!

Are you serious? What motivation would the Russians have had to cooperate with such a hoax?

I would be careful about posting ‘just to get a rise out of people’. :smack:

This is a well-informed board, where a poster can learn a lot.
Nevertheless, we we get regular visits from people who claim ‘the moon landings were a hoax’ / ‘there’s no evidence for evolution’ / ‘I can prove God exists’. When confronted with facts, they usually go away again. But each one seems to think they are making an original contribution.

I’ve read about 1000 books on chess alone. I also enjoy science fiction and detective stories (I’ve read every Agatha Christie, Rex Stout, Ed McBain’s 87th Precinct, Dick Francis, “Spencer” and “Sherlock Holmes” story for example).
What is the basis for your claim?

LITTLE GREY MEN!

Which claim, I was having so much fun, i `ve forgot what we were arguing about.

3 months?
Apart from the authors already mentioned, our school library has 40,000 books. I’ve been reading them for 17 years.
They have a computerised record of every book I’ve ever taken out, so the burden of proof is still on you.

p.s Ed McBain is a brilliant author, and Steve Carella one of my fav. characters.

Well, that’s a bit arrogantly presumptuous, isn’t it? What on Earth makes you think you have any idea how many books any of us have read, to the extend that you can feel confident enough to make as condescending a statement as this?

(At any rate, there’s no need to turn this thread into a literacy pissing contest. Maybe you have read a lot of books; I don’t know. But your claims about the moon landing live or die on their own merits.)

If you know anyone in the F.B.I you could get them to hack the Greater Manchester library records and then wed see who has the best hand. Heres another little tidbit. By the time Iwas 7 , I had read every book in the
school. Now that could be verifiable, but I do n`t think Peter and Jane books are gonna count here.

I didn’t say I’ve read a lot of books, that was presumption on your part. I don’t know what that has to do with my integrity, I was only making an observation based on the posts you have started versus the posts I’ve seen by some of the posters in this thread.

I don’t think everybody is going to post a list of every book they’ve read in an attempt to appease you or prove their competence.

I could read every Buck Rogers book on the planet and it wouldn’t make me able to do the calculations for placing things in various orbits (hint, some of the posters in this thread can do those computations).

Trust me, these are not a bunch of flag waiving yanks out to defend the honor of some moon landings, these are people who respect science and knowledge. If the moon landings could be proved a hoax, the other posters in this thread would exert themselves just as hard to prove that.
