Moon Songs (and other spaced out songs)

Shivaree - Goodnight Moon (No relation to the children’s book)

David Bowie - Life On Mars

Van Morrison -Moondance

Mister Moon” (children’s song)

Buddy Clark, Dreamer’s Holiday.

I guess NRBQ’s “RC Cola and a Moonpie” doesn’t count.

I was gonna go with King Crimson’s Moonchild and then noticed that Iron Maiden, Rory Gallagher, and Keith Jarrett play completely different songs with the same title.

I regret to inform I was unable to locate any songs about hanging a moon.

Dark Moon, Gale Storm

Moonlight Drive - The Doors

Thanks everyone for your contributions!

Can’t believe I got this one.

Rocket Man - Elton John

I almost posted that version:D, but I decided to go with Elton’s live version from when the song was new.

Moonlight Sonata. Horowitz plays Moonlight Sonata - YouTube

The obvious song was missed.

Klaatu, Calling Occupants Of Interplanetary Craft.

Dancing on the Moon.

I Don’t Know a Thing About Love by Conway Twitty (Moon isn’t in the title, but it’s a conversation between the singer and the Man in the Moon about, heh, women and what the hell do they want anyway?)

Man in the Moon - Daniel Amos (although it’s about Rev. Sun Myung Moon)

Yellow Moon - Neville Brothers

Smog Moon - Matthew Sweet

Boom FM had a program where they mixed Apollo 11 radio chatter withsongs from the 70s/80s. Eg.

“This is the last sleep period for the astronauts”= “Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This)”
“Eagle is in orbit” = “Fly Like An Eagle”
“Reducing pressure in the airlock” = “Under Pressure”
“Ready to open airlock” = “I’m Coming Out”

Culminating with “Dark Side Of The Moon”

This sounds great! Sorry I’ve missed it.
