More About Going to the Bathroom

Most of the stalls in the boy’s bathrooms in my junior high school and high school didn’t have doors, but I don’t think it was because the administration removed them. I think the students removed them, or they just broke off. San Francisco’s public schools in the 70’s and 80’s didn’t have any money, and repairs like that were just left un-done. Besides, I don’t know of one guy that ever actually took a shit at school. I imagine that the girl’s bathrooms were a little better than ours, but I don’t have any firsthand knowledge (except that one time, but maybe we better not talk about that ;)).

{Mad About You? You mean people actually watched that show? }

Probably not in Louisiana, but where people had electricity, yeah, they did watch, at least for awhile. :slight_smile:

“It’s hard to avoid reading because ever wheres we go, reading is there.”

Boys like to kick the doors, bang them etc, girls don’t. Girls like to smoke more though, I think.

MIght put the doors back on cause they are now made of mighty steel or too many peepers.

I’ve never seen a crapper that didn’t have a door except for once. That was when I was at a Navy base and the crapper was in the middle of the room, no door, no walls, no nuthin’. Fortunately I didn’t have to go.

I think Mad About You was a great show.

A crapper - in the middle of the room - no door, no walls? Did it have a big spotlight shining down on it directly overhead???

Once when I was GripGirl, I was on a shoot at someone’s house. I’d been chugging diet cola to stay awake, and I was not pleased when I realized that the one powder room downstairs had a light in it, and we weren’t allowed upstairs. “Dammit,” I remarked, and stomped off to the yard (nighttime). The otherwise-male crew politely stayed away, and I came back cheerful.

I guess I’m just better off living with my inner tensions.

Most of the boys rooms that I remmeber from school didn’t have doors…I do know that in my senior year in high school, they installed doors in the men’s room…I don’t know if they bowed under pressure, or just finnaly got enough money to do it. Also, when I moved from Virginia to Ohio, I noticed that in the north, guys hardly ever showered after gym class…(in one of the “group” showers)…I never understood that…we were all guys, and I hated going to class all sweaty and stank. The only reason I came up with was because it tended to be colder in Ohio…so going out with wet hair was a bigger deal…(shrug).

Oh, and the girls rooms did have doors.
