More Blatant Oppression of Christians

Over the last few months, you may have read stories about wedding photographers or cake makers not wanting to accept gay couples as clients. In some cases they were sued, so Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant took steps to ensure it didn’t happen in his state. He signed a bill which allows merchants to refuse business if they feel it violates their beliefs. He stressed that it’s not about discrimination, it’s about religious freedom.

As clear as Gov Bryant’s intentions may be, some merchants in Mississippi want to be sure that everyone knows they don’t intend to discriminate against anyone, so they put up some small stickers in their windows that say everyone is welcome to shop there.

This, of course, is tantamount to forcing everyone to have gay sex, and Buddy Smith, executive vice president of the AFA, isn’t going to lie down for that.

From the link:

“It’s not really a buying campaign, but it’s a bully campaign,” he says, "and it’s being carried out by radical homosexual activists who intend to trample the freedom of Christians to live according to the dictates of scripture.

“They don’t want to hear that homosexuality is sinful behavior – and they wish to silence Christians and the church who dare to believe this truth.”

Smith offers a word of caution for those who do business with facilities posting the decal supporting homosexual activism. “If you do that, you are agreeing with these businesses that Christians no longer have the freedom to live out the dictates of their Christian faith and conscience.”

Wow, just wow. How are the gay, lesbian, etc, customers supposed to know where to take their business? Is it expected that they just must be refused at places until they luck out? They’re actually helping the Christians by making less likely one of them will accidentally provide service to a sinner. And how are the businesses being silenced? Let them put up big signs saying they won’t provide the service.

I wonder if signs saying “Se habla espanol.” obviously must mean the store supports illegal immigrants?

I read your link, and I read it again just to be sure.

Buddy Smith is definitely intellectually challenged. IOW, he’s at least a moron, but more probably an imbecile or an idiot.

Those poor regular Christians…imagine the embarrassment of having someone like Smith on your side.

That entire site is intellectually challenged. It’s one that I read when I’m feeling especially masochistic.

Some of the comments are comedy gold!

Luckily they’re balanced out by an equal number of comment from the sane population.

I believe they’re supposed to take their business to lib’rul commie states like Massachusetts or California.

I’m trying to wrap my head around this - I guess it means that these businesses should also not do business with those who are divorced or who have lied, or who drink, or watch porn, or listen to devil rock-n-roll, or who don’t go to a whatever church they approve… Yeah, that makes sense.

Don’t forget the adulterers and fornicators.

I don’t understand why there’s no sympathy for those poor Christians - they just want to follow their religious beliefs. To be sure there’s no confusion with gay customers going into the wrong shop, why not have the stores put up signs informing them of their position? Something like “We do not serve homosexuals,” or “Straights only”.
Maybe hang the signs above the water fountains, too. Just to be safe.

This happened in Mississippi? Well, I’m sure a century ago, they were making black people use different schools, bathrooms, drinking fountains, etc and justified it by claiming, “Its not discrimination, its personal freedom! A white person shouldn’t be forced to share a drinking fountain with a black person!”

Obviously Mississippi is continuing to stay ahead of the curve this regard :stuck_out_tongue:

Is this where we are headed?

If you are divorced, gay, lesbian, bisexual, transsexual, have lied, drink, do illicit drugs, watch porn, listen to rock-n-roll, non-christian, masturbated, adulterated, fornicated, had lascivious thoughts, stole, refused to help the poor, eaten meat on Fridays, work on Sunday, taken the Lord’s name in vain, believe in Santa, the Easter Bunny, or Tooth Fairies, stepped on a crack and broke your mother’s back, sneezed on Tuesday, or drank milk from the container, please go elsewhere.

A month later:

Seems pretty stupid to put yourselfout of business dontcha think?

Better that than interact with a sinner. What would Jesus do?

Given His track record, join the local Rainbow Association or whatever they would be called…

Jesus sees what you did there.

From the comments:

“Huh.” is all I can manage from that.

Buddy Smith and Buddy Christ. Coincidence? I think not.

You are libeling mental idiots and imbeciles. He is a moral cipher.

I know through growing up in Chicago-ish that brain damaged fear (hate) is not limited to the south, those patriotic bastards. But jesus christ with a virgin for a mom, can I state for the record: :smack::smack::smack: good-fucking god.

Aw, crap. :smack:

Hang out all night, wake up three days later, go visit his buddies in his bathrobe, say “hang tight, I’ll be right back”, disappear and never be heard from again.
