more fundi radio

I’m to mad and sad to rant. When I found out about this I had to run to the bathroom (at work), lock the door and cry.
Why do we need another fundi radio station. The air waves around here are already full of them. I am to upset to speak.

Shit. That sucks ass.

Did somewone twist your arm and make you listen to it?

Change the fucking station.

I’m guessing this will have a simple solution–just move the Lake Charles translator to another channel. There should be plenty of choices in a less populated area of the country like Lake Charles, as educational FM translators are allowed to operate anywhere on the FM band from 88.1 to 107.9. So it’s just a matter of finding a free channel and getting the application approved by the FCC. I think the main problem is that KRVS should have kept track of what was happening, so it could have been prepared to move the translator without an interuption in service.

I’m a little confused, though. The FCC engineering database

seems to suggest that KRVS is licensed to 88.7 MHz. Why is it operating at 90.5?

KRVS on 88.7 is licenced to Lafayette. The station on 90.5 is a low power translator, K213AZ, located in Lake Charles, which rebroadcasts the KRVS signal. See FM Translator & Booster Stations for more information.
