Welcome to the latest edition of Moved Threads. I am completely bereft of pithy things to say right now, so I’ll write a true introduction later.

Hmm. Very interesting. Manny, some of your links work for me and some don’t (it doesn’t seem to matter which browser I’m using). I noticed this once before, but didn’t have an idea of why until today. The problem seems to be with your quotation marks. The difference between the two types does not show up when I preview, but if you click on reply with quotation (to this post), you should see the difference between " " and “ ” [the first pair are from the keyboard, the second pair are alt+0147 and alt+0148]. Are you cutting and pasting some of your posts from a word processor that uses the funky quotation marks as default? (They might be called “smart quotes” or something similar.)
That’s exactly right, Bibliophage. When I cut and paste from Word 95 or from notpad, the quote tags work normally. From Work 97, they often don’t. I’ve taken to replacing the quotes manually once I C&P into the reply window; I obviously forgot to do that with the abortion and Mexico threads.
I’ll do better as time goes on. Sorry about that, and thanks for repairing that one.
