More of this Performer, Please!

or, What actor do you want to see appear in more films more often? (we so often have threads about folks we hate, so this is a counter to those, I guess).

The actor I’d like to see more of (heh) is Brendan Fraser. I always enjoy his performances, even in not-so-great films. I’m sure there are others I could name, but I want to see what others have to say.

I realize she’s got a pretty good role in Fringe, but I hope that we see lots more of Jasika Nicole.

I really liked Jaye Davidson in The Crying Game, but he did just one more movie after that and vanished. He was riveting to watch even if he didn’t have a lot of acting chops.

I love Tara Fitzgerald, but most of her work is for British TV, and she’s not interested in doing American movies.

There is never enough Alice Eve.

There are quite a few “second fiddle” types in current TV shows that I enjoy who do well above competent work. Given more lines and face time, I could see good things happening from:

Tim Kang
Archie Panjabi
Jacob Pitts
Sean Harris
Aaron Paul

There are another dozen or so who need some more opportunities to strut their stuff.

Sean Bean, Misha Collins and Idris Elba spring to mind.

I think Jay Baruchel is one of the most talented young comic actors out there and I don’t see him in enough things. He’s probably a little too goofy looking to get cast for a lot of roles he would be great in.

I second Idris Elba and Sean Bean. Also, Nathan Fillion, I’ve been keeping an eye out for him since he was a kid on One Life to Live.

Saw an actor and actress recently that I would recommend but am suddenly drawing a huge blank.

Yes! You can find her in a bunch of great UK films like Hear My Song, Brassed Off and Sirens.

Sissy Spacek.

Kristen Wiig was flying under the radar for me. Sure I thought she was funny in Bride’s Maids, but it was a role that any good comedic actress could pull.
Then I saw her in Paul and I was blown away.
And speaking of Paul, I would watch anything with Simon Pegg in it.
