Is there an official word for anti-glurge? Glartch, perhaps?
Definitely. Since “wednesday school”, I always hated the role given to Judas, and my 8 y.o. self was revolted by his blatantly unjust fate. Though the priest told me that he didn’t end up in hell for betraying Jesus but for commiting suicide, it just reeked of injustice. He had to do so. Why on earth should he die and even worst (be sent to hell) for doing what he was expected to do? Someone had to do it, right?
Judas has been a kind of hero to me. On the other hand, I hated Peter for denying having been with Jesus. Talk about a spineless guy!
Great, poignant story!!!

If you enjoyed this story, you may want to follow the things that led Le Guinn to write it- forget Dostoyevsky and read road signs backwards.
RE Judas Sucide
I thought that there were conflicting accounts on this.
This reminds me of similar stories from Snopes.com…
I don’t know if this is true or not, but an anecdote I once heard was that when the first missionaries to Japan were explaining Christianity to the local samurai, their reaction was that while Judas and Peter had both betrayed their master, Judas did the honorable thing by committing suicide, but Peter was nothing but a coward.
Start bombarding her with Church of the Subgenius material. She’ll pull a John Nash trying to figure it all out.
Yes, that’s one of the more blatant contradictions in the bible.

Acts 1
