I’m with BarnOwl. Affter reading through all of the questions, I could find none that I knew for sure. The two that I thought might be right turned out to be wrong. That quiz is not for people like me.
Ah. That makes sense, I guess.
I got 44 but it didn’t tell me which ones were correct and what the right answers were, and I’m not joining up just to find out!
See Answer Key in Post 6.
48, which isn’t great, but given the number of questions I had no reason to know the answers to, isn’t horrible either. (I’m always horrid at pop culture questions).
I am a little annoyed by how easily I could have gotten another 4-12 points by picking the OTHER answer on a couple that I narrowed down to 2 possibles.
Twicks, I still couldn’t get the site to work right, but from your answer key, I got 11 out of 25. Gotta say that it was a really Smart, enjoyable quiz. Well-written with good segues and turns of phrase. Ya go, Gal!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.
I got a 56. From one editor to another: I also noticed a few errors (not among the answers, so no need for a spoiler box):
Question 13 – Correct spellings are Desi Arnaz and Melanie Griffith
Questions 22, 23 – It’s Procter and Gamble
Since I live in Tippecanoe County, I’d have had no excuse to miss #15!
Would do again! Two thumbs up! A+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
:smack:
And I noticed a singular/plural mismatch in one of the twins questions – I should go fix that.
BTW, you guys kicked ass – anything over 52 is impressive, based on the scores I’ve seen.
I only got a 48. But I had to guess a lot.
But I certainly knew the Siamese-twin question.
I believe the answer to #5 is wrong.
Bing and Frank co-starred in High Society. So there is no correct answer.
eta:
Although they did not co-star as showbiz partners, if that’s what you meant. Clarify?
So, you’re saying that it needs improvement? I think that a flawless review necessitates 48 “+” symbols.
I guess I’m not old enough for the test to be really relevant to me. I got bored/annoyed after less than a dozen questions.
As you can see, I’m quibbling because of my disappointingly low score - 52.
I also question #7:
Patty Duke played identical cousins in her tv show; was there some other place where she played identical twins? Diabolical!
Roderick Femm
Answer to your first question:
I’d forgotten about “High Society” – which I’ve never seen, actually, despite the Cole Porter soundtrack – the '50s were a weird decade for musicals… anyway, I’d forgotten about it, but will defend my answer on the loophole you suggested. He and Fred played partners in “Holiday Inn”; he and Hope in several Road films; and he and Danny Kaye in “White Christmas.” So … harder than I’d intended, since I’d thought Crosby and Sinatra hadn’t appeared together in a movie at all – shoulda checked that better – but still correct.
Answer to your second question:
I said twins, not “twin sisters/brothers.” So yeah, Patty and Cathy were “cousins – identical cousins all the way.” Since that was the gimmick of the show, I count it as legit. You can’t get four more points though unless you can identify Susan Lucci playing her own twin on a soap or sitcom – TV movies, if any, wouldn’t count.
ETA: 52 is a real respectable score – it’s as high as anyone at OKCupid is doing.
No offense twicks but I took the test and gave up tryin’ to find out how I did. That sign up part is so damn annyoin’!
Sorry sweetie – I didn’t know there’d be a sign-up thing for non-members.
'S Okay dear. It’s just that now I’ll never be able to dazzle y’all with my obvious brilliance cause we all just know there’s no doubt I got a perfect score.
