Do all ex-Mormons get telepathic powers? Because I was going to go and ask if there were any videos of the inner sanctum stuff because if we can get thorough stuff on something as difficult to get into the upper echelons of as Scientology I was convinced there had to be stuff on the LDS church. Thank you.
It’s about as hard to find and utiltize a Mormon Secret Service agent for Romney’s detail as it is to find a Jewish lawyer in NYC. It’s not an issue. Mormons are as plentiful as fleas on a hound in the Secret Service.
Is the President’s security detail more or less constant? If going to the inner sanctum is really that rare I don’t think it’s super discriminatory to give a temporary security detail assignment to a couple LDS members just for a few hour period. It’s not like they being LDS needs to be a requirement of his permanent detail.
Honestly, I don’t see how this is such an issue. When my family lived in the DC area, we attended St. John’s Episcopal Church across from the White House. At the time, the President happened to be Episcopalian. Whenever he attended services at St. John’s, the Secret Service did not frisk people in the congregation. I’m guessing there’s less of a threat in the LDS temple because it’s quite likely to have a lot fewer people there than at the Episcopal, Baptist, Methodist, or whatever denomination’s services presidents have been known to attend while in office. Not that I believe that there’s all that much threat in those other denominations’ services, mind you.
I do imagine it would be a bit of a stretch to assume that a would-be Romney assassin would either be Mormon or able to con his way into the same Temple, but they may be ballsy enough to try to pull it off if there’s no SS presence to deter such a stunt.
Why would the assassin know that he would be there? It’s not like a regular church service where a member will be attending every Sunday at 10:15.
It’s a little known fact that when then take away our fire resistant undies, we get the power to hear what other wish.
Pretty scary.*
- Our powers, not the super secret ceremony, which is pretty boring.
