Man, this is one odd thread in which to politically threadshit. Maybe it’s the SDMB equivalent of yesterday’s dick appearance.
Not a political threadshit. Although I did wonder how long it would take for someone to come to Obama’s defense.
My point was that the leaders of this country treat the population like a bunch of slow children, and the media feed us a bunch of crap to try to scare everyone and stir up ratings. No wonder the country is in the toilet.
My comment had nothing to do with political partisanship. If it makes you feel better, insert your favorite Republican for Obama.
sheesh
Well, I didn’t hear a word from Obama or any politician about the hurricane.
Maybe you’re just watching too much TV.
I can’t argue with you there. I would have been out, but the people on the TV kept telling me to stay put! Frankly, I was terrified.
However, he spoke from Martha’s Vineyard (where he is vacationing) to tell us sheeple what steps have already taken place or will be taking place before Irene made landfall.
Truth is, I didn’t see much of it either. I turned it off, feeling confident that I had enough toilet paper and could ride out the category 1 storm.
Sorry for the (unintended) hijack, folks. Time to get back to your regularly scheduled thread. USA! USA!
Get Elaine to tell her friend ok?
A-a-a-nd, ABC never disappoints in the overblown hype and people standing in a puddle with muck boots on. God, I detest Diane Sawyer.
My apologies. However, at first glance it looked like an off-topic swipe at Obama. (And a swipe at Obama is allowed, it just seemed like a loooong stretch in this thread.) Your point above is on-topic. I’ll insert “Michael Bloomberg” which, given he talked on TV about 100 times, makes him the star among the political Chicken Littles this weekend.
