Mortgage question

I spoke to our mortgage person on Tuesday this week about re financing our home. At that time the rates were about .375% lower than they are today. I told him that I wanted to lock in that day and he said he didn’t have time to do the application but he would do it by Thursday at the latest.

Now it’s Friday and still no Application. We have used this person before and it went fairly slow that time as well but it didn’t matter because we wanted to wait to see what the market was going to do before we locked.

Today I spoke with him and expressed my concern and said we want to lock today and he got pissed at me.

WTF! Am I asking too much expecting him to get this done for me?

Am I being a bit over anxious?

Any thoughts or replies to this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

With the lower rates, most mortgage people are totally overwhelmed at the moment. That said, the person you are dealing with sounds sort of like a jerk.

I did my re-fi on-line with GREAT success. Best customer relationship I have ever had, everything went smoothly and I got everything I wanted and more.

Any homeowner reading this who has not re-financed their home in the last few years, get off your butt and do it now! The rates are unbelievable and you will easily save a few hundred dollars a month - not including a nice cash-out if you are interested.

Humm - I just refinanced and I’m sure it took a few days.

When you say he got pissed, what do you mean?

a) He told you he was really busy and would try to get to it?

or

b) He called you an ass-hat and hung up on you.

If it’s the former, I would relax a little.

If it’s the latter I would find a new person.

www.ditech.com

tell your loan guy that you found this internet loan place that gets applications done in 24 hours. Put some fire under his butt.

…or just get your loan from ditech.

I’ll second what DMark said. Lately I’ve been transferring a lot of our callers to our refi. department and we usually sit on hold for several minutes waiting for someone to become available. Summertime is the busiest time in the mortgage world!

cough! Not sure if this is Dope kosher or not, but if you are interested, I could put you in touch with our refi. department. As far as I know, once you’ve got a rep on the line, they’ll take your application then and there - it’s a bit odd that the guy you talked to didn’t. Exactly why was he answering the inbound line if he wasn’t going to help you? Just send me an email if you’re interested.
