Mosquitoes

I understand a swarm of them, I have been in situations where there have been many all trying to desanguinate me. That, I think is fair: they need to survive and to survive they need to have my blood.

But tonight, they seem to be running singly. Of course I have insomnia, so their buzzing bugs me, but it really appears that they have some solo agenda. As soon as I kill one, one more will arrive. And if I allow that little bastard to suck some blood (I don’t get much of an allergic reaction) then one minute later there is another!

I get that they are nocturnal, but is there a reason they don’t get hungry for my blood until O3:48 in the morning? Could they not just make a plan for say, 20:00 so I can stick out my arm and feed the lot of them?

Horrible parasites. My dogs get medication that kills/disinvites fleas and ticks, why don’t we have the same for mosquitoes?

Great poster name and post.

I have often wondered the same thing about a human equivalent.
The pet stuff fights mosquitoes as well, that’s where heart worms come from.

Im not gonna cite because im lazy and this isnt FA. But didn’t they CRISPR up a batch of mosquitos to kill off the malaria carriers?

One easy solution that works:

Leave an electric fan on all night, on a low setting.

A medium-size table fan is fine. It doesn’t need to blow directly at you – blowing slightly to one side of your bed will work. Set it up any way that you don’t find irritating. It makes it difficult for mosquitoes to fly near you, and it also makes it difficult for them to navigate to you by smell.

Fans also work to keep mosquitoes away from outdoor gatherings on summer evenings.
