Most cumulatively unattractive TV show cast?

Never saw it, but I’ve seem ads where he appears to have a lot of hottie guests. Correct?

Sanford was ugly, sure, but what was wrong with Son?

Aunt Esther, of course, was so ugly you could press her face in some dough and make gorilla cookies.

Okay, but name one, just one good looking guy. Gandolfini, Van Zandt, Uncle Junior! :dubious:

WAIT, you did say totally lacking eye candy. I stand corrected although repulsed.

Yeah, I always thought Ron Glass had that Billy Dee Williams thing happenin’ for him.

Son wasn’t repulsive, but I don’t think you could call him eye candy. I would have to agree that Sanford and Son has taken the lead.

Oh look at Mel! He’s cute! A lot cuter than I remember him from the '70s.

I’ve noticed (and I think it’s been discussed here a few times) how many more beautiful people there are on nighttime TV. Of course the acting profession has a lot of good-looking people, but I was particularly struck by an old Miami Vice rerun I saw a couple years ago, of all things. It was held up as an MTV-era inspired show at the time, all flash and glamour and no substance. But the episode I watched featured prominently a guest actresses who was more or less an average-looking middle aged woman. Yes, she dressed nice but really, despite the overall glamoury tone of the show, none of the people were as glamourous, physically, as your average CSI on today’s television.

Remember the movie Soapdish with Sally Field and Robert Downey Jr.? There was a brain surgeon on the soap played by an extremely young nubile actress. Nobody missed the point how ridiculous this was; now it’s the norm.

Correct. But the guests are not part of the cast.

And there was Barney himself, for the middle-aged women. And whathisname, the Polish guy, for women who liked their guys a little more bulked up and stupid.

The Drew Carey Show?

The men on Hee Haw. The women made up for it.

Looking at the credits, I think that may have been Teri “they’re real and they’re spectactular” Hatcher.

McHale’s Navy. Ernest Borgnine? Carl Ballantine? Joe Flynn, Tim Conway, and Gavin McLeod weren’t the ugliest guys in history, but neither were they George Clooney.

A good choice when it comes to the male members! of the cast, but I thought that Christa Miller was one of the hottest women on TV for a few years…

Would it be cheating to mention the Golden Girls?

Seconded.

Interesting how we get so many sitcoms with characters who are not the prettiest bulbs in the room.

Ladies and gentlemen, I think this thread just proves that ugly = funny.

Would anyone admit to lusting after any of the men on Everybody Loves Raymond?

The high ration of unattractive people on that show is completely negated by the hotness that is Craig Ferguson. Other than him, you’ve got a point.

When Warren Beatty left the cast of Dobie Gillis after one season, that reduced the total hotness of the cast by 50%.

When Tuesday Weld left a couple years later, that eliminated the other 50%.
