Most despicable television character in history, in your humble opinion

That goes back a ways! Falconetti was one evil guy, almost to the point that I sometimes had to talk myself into not shutting the tv off. He gave me nightmares as a kid.

And Cliff Barnes is a good choice. He wasn’t so much evil as he was downright slimey.

Frank Burns

Richie Aprile. But I think Ralph Cifaretto was worse.

Scott Tenorman wasn’t a bully. He just scammed Cartman out of $10.

Sociopath, I’d say.

Think about how harmless these characters all are really. I’m giving up on fiction. I’m going with Greg Gutfeld, but it’s some stiff competition. These guys really scare me in the real world.

Connie D’Amico on*** Family Guy***. I loved it when Meg finally beat the crap out of her and her friends in the cafeteria.

Alice on Brady Bunch.

It does.

Green Acres had some pretty annoying characters…

I always thought Ralphie mentally ill in some way while Richie was plain sadistic. What he did to the guy who owned the pizza shop (the coffee pot and then the
SUV) was way over the top. It was a great performance.

Livia is the most evil of all. She is the puppetmaster. She gets people to do her bidding all the while having complete deniability. Who plots to have their own child killed? The Sopranos would have been much better if Nancy Marchand hadnt been sick and passed.

I’d like to make an unusual suggestion. Unusual because this character was never once seen on air. But it was a relative of Jamie and Tyrion Lanister in Game of Thrones.

It was their cousin who used to kill beetles and made a strange noise every time he killed a beetle.

If I recall, he would take a rock and thump a beetle and make the noise, “Koo! Koo! Koo!”.

Apparently, Jamie and Tyrion got a real kick out of this character. I’m not sure why. It seemed quite gross to me.

However, …

"KOO! KOO! KOO!"

Never trust a Livia.

Cant Livia wit em, cant Livia witout em

Yeah, it’s one thing to disagree with your son-in-law, and it’s another thing to hate him (justified or not), but turning him into an artichoke is over the line.

Darrin was a blustering buffoon, and Samantha was the voice of reason, but it would be interesting to go through the early episodes and see how the whole “no witchcraft” thing developed. I’m not sure it’s entirely on Darrin being autocratic. I seem to recall that Samantha was already trying to live as a mortal when they met, and if she promised him to forego the use of her powers it’s not entirely unreasonable for him to hold her to that promise. And, according to Wikipedia, Samantha doesn’t even tell Darrin she’s a witch until their honeymoon. Concealing something like that until after you’re married isn’t much of a way to begin a trusting relationship.

Hannibal is a good nomination, because he has done terrible, evil, disgusting things. But from the show Hannibal, I’d nominate Mason Verger as the most despicable. Hannibal seems to have some type of code, and mostly goes after “the rude.” He also is very charming, so you can’t help but like him despite knowing how terrible he is. But Mason Verger abuses his sister, molests children, tortures animals, and takes sadistic pleasure in it all.

Don’t know that he exactly walked away scott free. He lost his (stolen) money, his friends, his family. He ends up:

Doing a desk job (which is hardly his style) amid people who know he is dirty and loath him for what he is and as I recall the final scene is him eyeing his gun in a drawer suggesting he is considering suicide.

Good one, although I’m going with Gemma Teller. I know early on, she had moments of quasi-livability, but I can’t stand parents who do self-serving bullshit in the name of helping their kids. And hers was so, so much worse than that. The woman was straight out a psycho and in the end, was completely irredeemable. I was relieved for her to die and initially, I’d been a big fan. Katey Sagal is an thespian badass.

I disagree about McNulty, i don’t think he was even the worse of the cops, but that scene WAS pretty disturbing. It was played for laughs while ignoring the fact that the girls were actually sex trafficked slaves.

He destroyed much of the world with his underling Cthulhu.
