I’m usually pretty uninterested in races of all sorts. I feel like there’s just no room for storylines. Basically one of three things happens:
(1) Someone is faster and wins
(2) Someone is faster, then someone else comes from behind
(3) Someone is faster, then someone else almost comes from behind, but not quite

Actually there is a fourth storyline: there is a big crash knocking the leaders out of the race or otherwise mixing everything up.

All her races are worth watching - there’s half-a-dozen on the tube.

Definitely. Did it a few times. If you look at some of the other races on the right hand side of the Youtube page (they show up under ‘Up Next’ and are related), in those races the callers say things like ‘She’s last away - that’s OK’, and ‘She’s 6 lengths last, but she’s about to come home hard!’.

Recently I was talking to some fellow punters about the idiots you see in the TAB, cheering for dogs way back on the turn, that have no possible chance of ever getting up…

I don’t recall seeing anything like that before. And not just once, several times.
