Most quintessential Christmas singer

I like almost everyone mentioned but Mariah is the first that came to mind.

That was from Goodyear, right? My dad worked for them and got the first couple of years of records, then stopped as he didn’t like how they were going to pop versions of the songs.

For me personally, it’d almost have to be someone I grew up hearing sing Christmas songs, so that leaves out anyone that recent.

Yes. There were a couple of lp’s my parents had.

Don’t forget Dean Martin

I love (or at least like) all of those, and they are iconic additions to a traditional Christmas playlist. For me, a playlist that is about half of these type of classic secular songs and half traditional religious songs hits the right nostalgic spot for me.

Jim Reeves - 12 songs of Christmas - this is the only Christmas album I ever bought and own.

We have a couple of Ska Xmas CDs that are played every year.

Mariah Carey is the Christmas Queen these days.

I grew up listening to all the oldies Nat King Cole sounded best, but most fond memories of Mitch Miller and his gang on their sing a long Christmas albums.

Alvin!!!

I still want a hoooola hoop!

It’s not Christmas for me without a couple of spins of “Fairytale of New York” so I’ll go with The Pogues and Kirsty MacColl.

I didn’t grow up listening to Christmas albums, though I guess they’re a thing (either Kevin or Bean, from the old KROQ morning crew, had a well-known collection of Christmas albums as a hobby). So I can only really think of one-offs.

Bing Crosby

Another Bing here. The entire White Christmas album pretty much defines the essence of Christmas nostalgia for me.

Sure, you could go for iconic on that one, but manoman has it sure ever curdled over the years.

If Jose has gotten stale for you, check out Michael Buble and Thalia’s duet version of this classic. Definitely a fresh take.

Michael Bublé - Mis Deseos / Feliz Navidad (ft. Thalia) [Official HD Audio]

Sure, an improvement, especially how their vocals overlap later on in the song.

Yeah, Der Bingle comes to mind right away. He pretty much monopolized the market for awhile. But anymore, I tire of his gargling quickly. I’m also completely burned out on The Carpenters.

Brian Setzer has 5 Christmas albums, 6 if you include the compilation album of Christmas albums. And at least one live DVD of his Christmas Extravaganza which went on for over a decade. Here is 2017 at Santa Barbara:
