What time slot has had the most stable shows in that slot? I know Sunday at 7 on CBS is 60 Minutes.
Sundays at 8 pm for The Simpsons
Thursday at 10pm ET on NBC was ER for 15 years.
For several years it ran at 8pm Thursdays. So it’s been continuously stable at that slot for a “mere” 17 years.
And then there’s football, baseball playoffs and other preemptions.
That’s right, the Simpsons changed to Thursdays to compete with “The Cosby”. That puts some perspective on how long it’s been running. I wonder what percentage of the world’s population even predates The Simpsons, especially if you count back to the Tracey Ullman Show.
I’ve been time shifting so long, I don’t even know what time or day things are on anymore. Surely Law and Order must have been a fairly stable presence for a couple of decades or so.
Another reason The Simpsons should be renewed for future seasons.
ER was Thursday at 10 ET for its entire run of fifteen seasons, no?
Law & Order seemed like it was on Wednesday at 10 ET forever, but looks like it only moved there beginning in its 3rd season then in its final season NBC started running Jay Leno at 10 every night.
I would bet on a soap opera. I get all my TV through Itunes now so I don’t know when anything is on but for long running shows in a stable timeslot that would be my bet.
Cops at 8 Saturday nights on Fox.
Easily. General Hospital was the only soap I ever watched with regularity, but it’s been on at 3 pm ET (around here, anyway) since the mid-70s when I did.
