Most tasteless thing about Whitney's Funeral?

I said the exact same thing when I heard about all the anger. And the argument pretty much shuts people up because everyone knows it’s true!

I believe the main objection is that giving out an honor (such as lowering flags) to people who don’t deserve it (or at least are considered not to) cheapens that honor for those who do.

The drunken calls into local AM Talk-Radio stations dropped by at least half so clearly their ratings were hurt. Crotchety old men in lawn chairs have to have something to whine about besides spending $12.50 on a snow shovel when the sky doesn’t even have the decency to snow.

No one was bitching when she turned the National Anthem into a #1 single.

I’m sorry but I have to call out this reasoning as complete projection. Show me one person, so honoured, who feels it has been ‘cheapened’ by this display.

(I want to say this to every person who makes this point, because it seems so lame to me, but I never really do. It’s not just you, please don’t take it personally!)

I understand your concern and sympathy, but I don’t think her future is quite set in stone just yet. People have come from as bad or worse starts in life and gone on to be strong, intelligent, independent souls…

It’s possible.

Oh.

Well, it doesn’t, so that’s one less thing to fret over!

I want to say what should have been a nice celebration was ruined by acts like Bobby Brown storming out and Aretha Franklin being a guest of honor, and then “uninvited” by Whitney’s mom.
They didn’t pass out 40’s of malt liquor, but I think the whole thing turned out ghetto. It’s a shame, because their was lots of talent there to celebrate an a very accomplished artist. Just couldn’t pull it off without bickering and storming off. Classy behavior for a funeral.

It’s odd, to me, that you think Bobby Brown had a right to attend, and yet the media shouldn’t be invited. He beat her, and dissed the group by bringing more than he knew he should have. He didn’t have the right. He was a guest. At any rate, I haven’t seen it. It seems that nobody has disputed the facts, so, to me, it does sound a bit ghetto. However, since she’s dead, it can’t hurt her. Her kids are making money off of it, and if I were the one in the coffin, I would think that whatever would benefit my child was alright, low rent or not. And, let’s be real, they pulled off something that Joe Jackson would be proud of, and Don King couldn’t even imagine.

I think that says it all!

One of the conditions Bobby Brown was subject to was not to approach his own daughter unless she initiated contact. And some of the 9 people (instead of 2) were his kids from previous relationships who were reportedly close to Whitney. Now the funeral will be rembered for BB leaving instead of eulogies by friends and famiy.

Her kids? I was under the impression Whitney only had one child, her daughter Bobbi Kristina. Am I wrong?

I only saw the gold hearses and i thought that was a nice change from the white black and grey i usually see.

In searching for news about Whitneys funeral I found this page which has a phoe of Whitney in the casket. It is from the National Enquirer so keep that in mind as it might be a fake.

Did we all really know this? I’ve looked a bit online for evidence of just how addicted she was and couldn’t find a whole lot. I might have just missed it, but what is the best evidence to how addicted she really was? Anyone?

You are correct. Bobby Brown brought his other children.

This is tasteless and classless.

Eh, the picture in the casket wasn’t so bad. I don’t get how people WANT to take pictures of someone in a casket, anyway. I’ve seen photos where folks are standing NEXT to the open casket, and it’s almost like a tourist picture.

Yuck.

Nah, the WORST picture the National Enquirer ever had was a smuggled photo of John Lennon just before he was cremated. It was tinted, obviously, but it was TACKY TACKY TACKY.
