The big problem: we weren’t big drinkers. Hotels would give a discount on rooms rates and such thinking we would drink up like normal conference folks. Nope. There was one where the manager was visibly steamed and wandering around asking people why they weren’t drinking. So we could only use a site once since the next time around the rates would jump.

Yeah, Vegas is not real fond of people who can do math. I was at a Comdex, and the cab driver was bitching and moaning about all those computer geek and how they “…come with one shirt and a $20 bill, and never change either.”

BreyerFest, a huge model horse convention held every July in Lexington at the Kentucky Horse Park. It’s several days of model horse shows, seminars, and swap meets.
