Motherfucker this pisses me off!

No, no, no! Just because it’s Missouri, don’t go assuming we eat kittens during the middle of the week. If you checked the handy-dandy Missouri Travelers’ Guide, you’ll clearly see that kitten-kabobs are strictly a weekend treat.

God, this story bummed me out. I read it right before I left work yesterday, and was in a terrible mood for the rest of the day. I just kept trying to think what kind of sick fuck would get a thrill from that–from doing it or watching it. It was a kitten. A seven week old kitten. Why could you possibly want to torture it like that?

:frowning:

You guys are right, next time I’ll give a warning, sorry bout that.

Fuck, I’m still steaming about this.

You know, they really should have harsher punishments for animal cruelty.

And Calliope is right - " ‘People’ who will do that to a kitten will just as likely do that to a child. It takes a complete lack of empathy, a sociopathological callousness, to torture an innocent victim in such a way."

I don’t have time to look up the stats right now, but nearly all serial killers got their “start” with torturing and killing animals, often when they were still children.

And what kind of example does this set for kids in the area? It happened in the barbeque of an apartment complex. Who knows what kids who saw that might think?

(disclaimer-I do not advocate violence or acts of vengance. Even if they really really deserve it)

Some of you want names. This ‘names names’ along with a photo, lest you want to put a banana in his tailpipe.

Ooh, isn’t he a bad looking dude?

It’s interesting to see how much of a chord this has struck with people. Many bulletin boards that I belong to are discussing this, and it’s nice to see that people are realizing and saying how sick and twisted this is. Animal abuse happens every day, but it’s refreshing to see people still caring.

Understanding that nutty people, like mold, tend to sprout from all walks of life, let me offer this caveat about Liberty:

Liberty is a fairly affluent (and growing and growing and growing) small town just North of Kansas City, Missouri, whose residents are usally pretty decent folks. The kitten flambe happened at an apartment complex that is known for its troublesome residents; because of this, I daresay the children in the area will understand very well that a psychotic loon was responsible and that, hey kids, Officer Good and Decent says “Don’t do that!”

That said, it’ll be nice to get that bastard out of town and behind bars. (Hopefully.)

Boy, what a shocker. A white trash pile of shit with a lengthy arrest record is responsible. I suppose torturing the kitten made him feel powerful and important, feelings no doubt sorely lacking in his wasted, empty, going nowhere life.

Hopefully he’ll get the high end of sentencing, but I’m not going to hold my breath. Where the fuck is PETA in this type of case?? Oh, that’s right. They’re busy criticzing the NCAA for using leather basketballs.

Uh, it isn’t as if PETA never comments on cases like this:

http://www.peta.org/news/NewsItem.asp?id=1100

http://www.peta.org/news/NewsItem.asp?id=1085

http://www.peta.org/news/NewsItem.asp?id=1103

http://www.peta.org/news/NewsItem.asp?id=1104

http://www.peta.org/news/NewsItem.asp?id=1065

They nearly always issue a statement in regards to high-profile cruelty cases, and their legal team frequently files amicus briefs.

In this case, the suspect is already identified, has been taken into custody, and has been charged. What precisely would you like PETA to do about it?

Guys, PLEASE don’t get angry with me for this, but I just keep telling myself that the kitten is in a much better place now, playing with other kitties and happy.

I HAVE to think that. Otherwise, I’ll go nuts.

This happened like 15 miles north of me. I had no idea it was in Liberty MO.

It makes me feel soooo comfortable knowing we have freaks like this running around our town.

Waenara: Sociopathic. Seriously, if I have to teach y’all that word a third time in this thread, Very Bad Things will happen.

Oh…I’m sure he’ll get plenty of “bananas in his tailpipe” once his fellow inmates find out why he’s there.

Derleth: I know what sociopathy is. Note that I said that this was “sociopathological callousness” in my post.

Not every sociopath abuses animals, but my point was more along the lines of the animal abuse/human abuse connections.

Or rather, Calliope said “sociopathological callousness”, I was quoting her. Her post was the first one you responded to.

Egads what an ugly fuck!

I bet that guy hasn’t had pussy since it had him!

Burn fucker burn.

(Guinastasia:slight_smile:

I see absolutely no reason to be angry with that: I’m doing the same thing myself.

I’m also envisioning that once those… those… complete, utter morons who have shown themselves to not be fit to scrub the slime off the inside of a stagnant sewer line’s interior with their tounge are dead, they’ll find themselves, helpless, surrounded by cats and kittens. slow, cold smile

Grrr.

I agree that people who torture animals are scum, but I would like to see some of this outrage directed at other awful things, too.

Case in point: In Michael Moore’s Roger and Me, a woman kills and eats a rabbit because she can’t afford to go to the supermarket. Later in the film, a black homeless man is shot to death by police.

Guess which scene Moore says tons of people have complained about?

There are a few other pit threads on this matter, looks like it really ticked some people off. Everytime I think about it I get pissed as hell.
