Rescuers were making their way up Mt. Hood as dusk fell Wednesday to reach three climbers, one of whom was reportedly struck by a large block of falling ice in the area of the Hogsback at about 10,600 feet.

A 45-year-old female climber was believed to have been hit in the back by a large chunk of ice. Her climbing group was on the Hogsback on the south side climbing route, said Steve Rollins with Portland Mountain Rescue.
