Just a slight venture into the future, and swinging doors have practically disappeared. It’s all sliding doors. When is this going to happen irl? I’m tired of using a doorknob like some kind of animal.
Animals are way ahead of us. They live in barns and barn doors slide.
I want doors that respond to a vocalized sibilant, like in Airplane 2.
Do we really even need doors? People do all sorts of fucked up things behind them when they are closed.

I want doors that iris open.
But on House Hunters, sliding internal barn doors are all the rage, Mooooo. Or bedrooms with no doors at all, open to the whole house. “That thing you knew as ‘privacy’ was a short-lived fad.”
“Your work’s open-plan office now follows you home.”
In the future, all buildings will be in a sort of Brutalist style architecture.
Generally, they will also be enormous.
I do not want my cat to be able to keep opening the door, over and over again, to see if it it still raining outside.
If the Brutalist is softened with some nice landscaping, I’m all for it.
“The door dilated”.
I know I’ve always wanted doors that look like an anus.
I know that I’ve always wanted to live in a Terry Gilliam film.

Not even in the future – in Transparent, set in a hospital, all the doors to patient rooms slide. I can see serious problems with that in a hospital.
At the clinic where I have my doctor appointments the doors from the hallways to the patient rooms all slide. I don’t see how this can be a problem in a hospital.
At a lot of the buildings I enter, the doors automatically slide open.
