Movie Marathon (Part 1)

I do not understand this prompt, nor have I seen the example, nor have I ever heard of it. Can you elaborate on what you are looking for?

Sure. Looking for films that are both A) worth seeing due to historical importance, artistic achievement, weighty/thought-provoking subject matter, and/or any other criteria one posits for “worthiness,” and B) extremely likely, if not absolutely guaranteed to produce a negative emotional reaction in the viewer.

I’m reluctant to offer additional examples, because that’s a bit contrary to the notion of “thread games,” but some possible general notions might be “harrowing documentaries” (of which the initial entry is one), “heartbreaking dramas,” “pessimistic dystopias,” and so on.

Looking for movies that are both “bummers” and worth seeing anyway.

Here’s an IMDb user review of the initial entry, for flavor:

Missed the edit window … perhaps I should explicitly point out that there are hyperlinks available in both the initial entry (to the IMDb listing) and the explanatory post immediately above (to the Wikipedia page)?
