Not at all. It didn’t take long to google-up an earlier example, even excluding more ‘innocent’ uses like virgin forest, or Virgin Mary.

The 1980 film? I haven’t seen that, but I saw the 1946 Sherlock Holmes film, and I’m pretty sure it didn’t happen there, albeit, I saw it a looooong time ago.
No Country for Old Men
Been scouring lists of “Must-see” movies for days looking for something besides Rocky and The Godfather that I haven’t seen. Hate mob movies and Sylvester Stallone. Actually do want to see #10 some day.

I am aware that this is not a common opinion and I agree that Bill Murray was not up to the starring role despite this being his own vanity project, but the script really trimmed and tightened up a lot of the pretentious twaddle in Somerset Maugham’s book and, Murray aside, the cast was great.
