Probably changed because ignorant Murrikuns, insisted on calling it “The Green Ray,” in spite of being offered the easier “Spring,” because Murrikuns don’t know what the “Green ray” is, despite its being explained and referenced over and over again in the film. Also, I think it was always “The Green Ray” in the UK, thems what knows about Jules Verne and stuff. Stuff like the Philosopher’s Stone.
