Movie-Music -- Guess where -- a quiz

How rude of me. I was supposed to leave something for you to ponder. Don’t look at the screen–big hint comes at 1:30, and if you don’t get it by 2:10, you will.

Planes, Trains and Automobiles, during the chasing-a-cab scene (featuring Kevin Bacon) near the beginning of the movie?

Name the movie that featured the music that this guy is doing a cover of (a somewhat labored, sloppy cover of, I might add; but certainly better than I can do).

I was all over the map trying to guess even the genre! I finally had a big suspicion (kept my eyes closed throughout) when that familiar theme came up, but I’ve heard it in similar tricky circumstances and wasn’t sure. Good one!

Here’s one where you need to avoid looking (and hope some goddamn commercial doesn’t get in the way first) but it ought to become clear if you’ve seen any parts of the movie: I just love this piece!

Nice piece of music!

This one is either painfully obvious, or you’ll never get it in a million years–composer or movie. Again, avoid your screen.

The previous piece (from post #21) was Jaws 2 - John Williams

Here’s one more where the title comes up straightaway, so blind yourself:

This is amazing music!

This should be an easy one. The video won’t give it away, but what’s written below will.

Fantastic! Again I was all the way from cavalry to Great Escape to Vikings to some Taras Bulba thing but I would have never figured on My Main Man Mancini! Great find. Never saw the movie.

Very moody and I did see the movie – a long while back. Didn’t have a clue!

I hang my head in shame: I have never seen The Conversation all the way through!

There have been some excellent pieces in this thread. One more and then I gotta go feed critters: Same composer as the above spoiler, but this is one of my favorite films–could watch it a bazillion times.

Post #28 was Lifeforce - Henry Mancini

Once more, smash that screen!

Right movie! Different scene.
When they entered the motel room and discovered it had only one bed.

By the way, the classical piece I posted…I was looking for Excalibur as the answer.

My curiosity got the better of me so I tracked down that old thread:

Favorite Movie Music – with audio which had 39 posts from 03-15-2009, 10:51 AM through 03-26-2009, 05:14 PM

See this post for the clip in question and its poster. <<< NB: the link in that post is dead! >>>

Sorry if some of the links that thread are dead now.

Just now seeing this. Yet to see the movie. Good sounds, though.
