Shirley Temple had a small supporting role in this movie but it brought her to public attention. She would be the lead in two hit movies, Little Miss Marker and Bright Eyes, before the end of 1934.
Fox Films had Temple under contract and her success probably saved the studio, which had been on the verge of bankruptcy.
