Ok, this radio station I used to listen to in Chicago used to play clips
of movies in between songs. Usually these were jarring phrases, or
something that sounded really bizarre when taken out of context as a non
sequiter. For example, they played that “Initials” bit from Hair where the
church-sounding choir sings “The youth of America on L-S-D.”
Anyway, there’s this one clip that’s plagued me for years. I’d assumed
that I’d stumble into it, but I haven’t yet. So, using your vast
treasure trove of pop culture knowledge, PLEASE help me out here.
What we have is a '50s sounding diner scene, perhaps out West, and the
waitress has a really husky voice & sounds like your stereotypical “Marge”
complete with white apron & coffee pot. And the dialog goes like this:
Waitress: “Can I getcha anything?”
Man: “Yeah, but it ain’t on the menu.”
Waitress: “And it ain’t gonna be!!”
And that’s it. Help!
