Movie you would make/have made.

Do it LOTR-style and film all three at the same time.

And as a follow up, film Steel Beach.

Good calls so far on Good Omens and Night Watch.

I’d like to see a movie version of the comic book series Hellblazer. It won’t be called Constantine, it most definitely won’t be moved to the United States, and it sure as hell won’t star Keanu Reeves. This one will be called Hellblazer, and it’ll be set in London in the early-to-mid 90’s. I’ve already forgotten most of the storylines from Jamie Delano’s run, but I do remember that there were some story arcs that you could just translate directly into a movie, no translation required.

Casting would be Clive Owen as John Constantine, no doubt.

Over Sea, Under Stone. It just works better that way.

elfkin - Now I can’t remember if Will has six siblings or seven - I know he has five brothers, but I can’t remember if he has just one sister, or if there’s two. Anyway. I don’t know that all five movies could be done for $100 million, but you could probably get a few of them done for that price. For fantasy, there aren’t a whole lot of effects, and if there aren’t a lot of name actors attached…

Someone needs to do those movies. They’d be great.

I’m surprised it hasn’t come up yet:

I’m not a big fan of the video-game-to-cinema movement, but the technology is getting so advanced, gamers almost expect something cinematic anyway, so once the thing is on the shelves, you’re halfway there.

The only game in the past ten years that could hold my attention has been Halo. I eagerly await Halo2. If I had to make one largely brainless, effects-driven, scifi monster-mash of a film, it would be a Halo adaptation. It’d have it all: Multiple scary-ass species of aliens; the requisite bloody alien carnage on an absurd scale; sinister artificial intelligences battling brawn and brais with humans and cyborgs; big, BIG explosions; lots of marines getting blown up every which way; huge battles on land, sea, in the air, and up in space; plus, how could I resist the joy of casting some beautiful actress to play the part of Cortana?

Halo: The Motion Picture. Why not?

That’s a toughie. Eastwood’s way too old, but I like Hoskin’s voice.

In fact, I’d almost hate to try and “cast” discworld, because Pratchett does such a great job describing them (plus I think the artwork in “The Last Hero” looks ‘accurate’ to me). Once I put the face of X on a fictional character, they don’t seem as real to me. That happened with “Master and Commander.” The choice of Aubrey was fine, but Maturin does not at all look like whoever played him in the movie.

As for Vimes (since I’m here I might as well play the game), you need a somewhat older actor who’s just starting to show his age. Thin but very tough. Weary but capable of cleaning up well.

Oh, what the hell, it’s my movie. I’d suggest Colin Firth.

A few more ideas:

-A fantasy story I’m writing, because it’s my hundred mil and I want to see my creation made into a movie. Even though it sucks.

-East of Eden movie

-The book of Genesis, made into a movie.
