Movies [and TV] that would be greatly improved by recasting the lead

The one that’s always stood out for me is Nicholas Cage in Moonstruck. Everybody else is absolutely perfect, but Nick just doesn’t make it. He does the borderline psycho thing fairly well, but I think he overdid it. More important, there’s just no chemistry between him and Cher.

More recently, Georgie Henley, who plays Lucy in Disney’s Narnia, is absolutely nothing like I’ve ever imagined Lucy. Lucy had pluck. All Henley seems to do is act surprised in that childhood wonderment way that bad child actors seem to gravitate toward. [Oh, and does anyone else think there is altogether too much lip tissue in the kiddie cast in general?]
