Movies: do bad guys win?

Wild Things with Neve Campbell and Kevin Bacon.

Very good movie, with lots of plot twists.

Wrong thinking is punished, right thinking is just as swiftly rewarded. You’ll find it an effective combination.

WAR IS PEACE

FREEDOM IS SLAVERY

IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH

Big Brother is Watching You.

Man, 1984 is one of those stories that just CREEP teh hell out of me…

Hey, if it ain’t broke, give ME a shot at it.

Reservoir Dogs. Not many characters walk away from that one, in fact, pretty much everyone shown on screen dies.

Swimming With Sharks. No character’s innocence survives. Heckuva flick, btw.

Hollywood isn’t going to make many pictures where good loses. It’s just not in their nature. Bad for repeat business, and Joe Moviegoer won’t drag the whelps back for more popcorn. Stick with indie/noir pics, and you’ll see some of the darker sides of life.
::stops, shakes head:: Just realized I’m basically preaching to the choir here, as I’m sure that the smarter-than-average foks on the board already know this. Never mind me.

Shanghai Triad.

Every sympathetic character dies. A little girl is going to be trained to become a slutty lounge singer. The hero last seen swinging upside down on the sail of a crime lord’s junk.

Gotta love those Chinese Mafia movies.
