Bram Stoker’s Dracula, the 1992 movie directed by Coppola.
It’s not one of my favorites, but I don’t dislike it the way others seem to (and yes, I am a fan of the novel). Yes, it’s over the top, way too long, Keanu Reeves is irritating, and the whole plot of having Mina being some reincarnation of Dracula’s lost love is silly but the set design is wonderful. I love the look and feel of the movie. And, except for the reincarnation twist, it’s pretty faithful to the book. I find Gary Oldman’s odd performance as Dracula amusing. And I enjoyed Anthony Hopkins’ mad-scientist take on Abraham Van Helsing.
