I have a ticket to see Circle Jerks play a set followed by a showing of the movie in Milwaukee next month. I can’t believe I used to like these guys.

Saw Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass tonight. We were the only 2 people in the theater for a 7:30 showing. It was… Ok. Wacky, with some laughs. Bunch of cameos. No reason to see it in the theater.

Holy shit, this movie was awful. The ‘true story’ this is based on must be bent like a pretzel to come up with this schmaltzy tripe.
The wife wanted to see “Last of the Mohicans” (Daniel Day-Lewis version), so we watched that last night. I saw it years ago. It doesn’t hold up all that well, and the ambient light filming at night, and jacked up volume during battle scenes is really annoying.
Eternity - a fairly banal romcom about a woman who is forced to decide which of her husbands (the one who died in the Korean War where they were young or the second one she spent most of her life with) to spend eternity with. It has its moments but honestly just under the surface is the premise that the afterlife is ghastly and shallow and that an eternity of anything would be hell, which makes it less romcom and more horror. Don’t bother unless you’re bored and it’s free.
Started watching Polite Society about a girl fighting against her sister marrying a rich handsome doctor as she is convinced the doctor’s family are evil. Are they evil? Of course they fucking are - I turned it off at the big plot twist as it was just too stupid. It would have been a much better film if the twist was that they weren’t. It’s a pity because the cast is excellent - I could watch Ritu Arya read a phonebook for an hour.
We watched the 1977 movie Sorcerer last night. Four desperate men stuck in a hell hole somewhere in South America agree to transport unstable dynamite across the jungle. the film does an excellent job of ratcheting up the tension and you really feel that anyone could die. It bombed at the box office being up against a little film called Star Wars.
I don’t like “happy fun” movies about criminals. Sure I can watch The Godfather and enjoy it, but it is obvious they aren’t the good guys. i don’t like criminals, and they shouldn’t be featured in fun films..
I want a can of DRINK!

Whaddaya mean “of course” nothing to play it on? I have a perfectly functional VHS player, and even a second- or third-generation Betamax packed away somewhere! I’ve dumped most of my VHS movie tapes, but I have to keep the player around because of one tape that features my son at a very young age in a kids’ television game show where he won the grand prize! 
Watched the documentary Jeff Beck - Still On The Run last night. A good overview of his career with some clips I’ve never seen before. Highly recommended if you’re a fan…and if you’re not, you might be after watching.

Yeah, I think that was @Just_Asking_Questions’s point. The filmmakers didn’t try to make the Corleone crime family likeable or forgivable.
We’re slogging through Once Upon A Time In America, Sergio Leone’s 3-1/2 hour epic. The wife wanted to see it, but we can’t do it in one sitting. Worse, I’ve already seen it.
