How do people get their cars moved when relocating? I remember something called the Auto Train, but I think this was strictly a vacation-type thing and only went to Florida.
Let’s assume that I plan either to fly or take the train to my new home on the other side of the country. I’m not taking any furniture, all my clothes & small miscelaneous items can be boxed & shipped UPS- no sweat. But how do I get my car to follow me? Are there moving companies that specialize in transporting cars from state to state on those behemoth car-carriers?
Any moving company - United, Allied, all of those - can move your car for you. They have the traditional car carriers that they use as well as their normal moving trucks. If you see a big semi with a “low-bellied” trailer, odds are that a car has been driven up into there and surrounded with boxes.
They say I got the power, because I got the monkeys.
They are WRONG! I got the power because I am not afraid to let the monkeys loose.
Missy’s suggestion looks like what I had in mind. Let’s see what their quote is.
I Decided against regular moving companies for the reason that I didn’t have boxes of stuff to move along with the car.
I got the estimate: $995.00 for a little tiny Miata. I think I’ll just drive.
Hire some college student to drive the car across country for you. If you have a Miata, you’ll probably only need to pay them with beer money!
