I have a PC running XP, but am getting a more modern unit that uses Vista. Before, when I have reformated my system, I used a wizard that saved all my Settings, which included emails, passwords, etc) to a CD, which I then uploaded into the fresh system and was able to keep all my old information.
Once when I tried this, the new Settings would not be accepted because it said I saved the setting in a different version of XP than the version I was trying to upgrade into. I lost all my old emails and had to reconfigure everything from scratch.
Now I want to transfer my Settings and emails from the old XP computer to the new one running Vista. Is this going to work, or am I liable to have problems? I don’t mind so much having to set up Explorer again, and reset all the display and preferences, but I would like my Outlook Express emails to all transfer over.
