In a few months I will be moving to Miami from Chicago to begin my new life as a poor college student. Before I go, there are a few things I feel I must know:
How’s the weather down there? I understand it’s hot (duh), but does it ever reach below 60 degrees? What about humidity, will my hair become a permanent frizz ball? Should I do away with all of my winter coats, gloves, scarves, et cetera? Are pants futile?
Is the crime rate relatively high? What’s the possibility of being whacked by the Cuban Mafia/drug traffickers/Tony Montana-types?
Will my Spanish skills be very useful? I’ve taken it every day since kindergarten but, for some reason, I’m nowhere near fluent. I’m proficient, though.
And any other advice would be helpful too. Thanks.
