I’ve been away from this thread for a while, but I wanted to share my happiness over all the good news that I’ve been missing out on! Yay!
SUNLIGHT!!! How wonderful! I hope TOS’s recovery keeps snowballing. Runs around tossing confetti in the air.
Sending congratulations and best wishes for continued improvement for TOS, along with the now-customary bumping of** flatlined**!
:):):):)
I think when all is said and done and he’s home, then **purplehorseshoe **should start a “HE’S HOME!!!” thread, and we should let **flatlined **flatline this thread.
Stop me if you’ve heard this before: “YES. Yes. yes.”
I was going to go with a standard smiley, but then I remembered the sunshine. So Sunglasses it is!

And it was a beautiful day for it, too. I guess it was still in the 100s when Mr. Shoe checked in, but today it was a breezy 75.
So good to hear that things are going well.
I’m SO glad he’s getting better! Yay for outside! Yay for sunshine!
IIRC COBRA only lasts for 18 months and is very expensive.
Contact Social Security and check into Medicaid, as others have suggested. It can be short-term or long-term. It can provide more than you’d ever believe; rehab, prescriptions, home hospital beds etc. They, or United Way, or even your local newspaper can maybe hook you up with people who provide ramps and things.
Hope he gets to come home soon. What a Thanksgiving THAT will be!
Such exciting news! Woot Woot!
It’s amazing the things we take for granted until they are taken away from us. Godspeed to both you and the Mr. for a speedy recovery.
Oh yay! What good news!
Been following this thread, too, for all these many weeks, and just want to add to the joyful noise and happy dancing.
Hooray!!!
Dadgummit, where’s the “like” button on this newfangled contraption?!!!

Update?

We need our dose of TOS good news.
(Post when you can)
He’s getting the trach thingamahookey pulled out of his throat today. That’ll be nice; it’s been capped off but if he bumps it accidentally with his chin or whatever, it moves inside his windpipe and makes him cough …
The plan is still to discharge him from acute care next week and move him to a physical rehab facility. Next frigging week! OMG!
YAY!!!
Coooooool!
Thanks for the update.
I just saw this: MAN, ain’t that the truth? I will never take for granted the ability to scratch my own nose ever again.
pop And out it went! ![]()
:happy bouncing:
YAY!! Has he been getting up every day?
