MS Outlook 2003, Exchange, Calendars

At my office I’m running an SBS2003 server with Exchange 2003. I’ve also got Outlook 2003 installed on all the office PCs.

So far I’ve had to deal with the usual Microsoft headaches (why will machine #1 connect but not #2 when in every way they’re identical???) and such. No problem. Chill pills and some Jedi relaxation techniques and not a single unit has been propelled through a wall.

However, there is one small issue I have yet to reason out the reason to.

We have calendars that we’re sharing. Actually, being a small company we’re really looking at having our calendars pretty much completely open and available to everyone. Okay, shared calendars all around, then.

Thing is, on every client except for one (more on that in a second) everyone has two calendars “Calendar” and “Calendar in Mailbox - Bill Bixby”. Only the “in mailbox” calendar can be shared. Not such a big deal except I know I’ll get call after call about how “IT’S NOT WORKING” when, in actuality, they stuck their appointment in “Calendar” rather than their “Mailbox Calendar”.

Now, there is one client (strangely enough a test machine) that has only “Calendar” and not “Calendar in Mailbox” listed. However, THIS client CAN share its regular “Calendar” calendar. Huh?

Am I missing something obvious here? If possible I’d actually prefer to have the setup on my test client across all my machines - one calendar and that’s it. No muss, no confusion, and no stupid questions from people.

Any suggestions?
