MS Project software - trial version

I’m trying to locate a trial version of Microsoft Project, either 2002 or 2003 version, either Standard or Pro version.

Microsoft’s product website shows trial versions available for $4.95, but you can’t actually order them; the catalog entry lacks a [add to cart] button which all the other products have. The part#s are H30-00216 for 2002 Pro & 076-02480 for 2002 Standard.

I called their product order center and they said that was a time-limited promotion and I missed it by 4 days. Damn the bad luck.

Google was no help either.

If anyone has a suggestion on where to find it I’d appreciate it.

If anyone already has this trial version and would be inclined to provide a copy I’d be very grateful and will donate a suitable sum in return for the libation of your choice.

Note I’m NOT asking anyone anywhere to bootleg the actual expensive paid-for versions.

Thanks in advance.

Sometimes software stores and office stores also carry promotional trials.

We use MS Project on a daily basis and it is specified in our contracts for the contractors to use for their project schedules. It was originally developed for non-construction planning schedules, but has morphed into a decent construction program (and much cheaper than Primavera).

What application are you thinking of using it for? Perhaps I can answer some questions you may have about it.

Chefguy,

I just need to learn to use the damn thing & I don’t want to spend $500 for the privilege.

A 120-day trial version will let me get good enough with it that when my employer deploys it I can be ready to rock & roll.

Is there a training facility in town that teaches Microsoft programs? You can usually find a one-day seminar that will give you all the basics and won’t bust your bank account.

Thanks for the suggestion. I ordered a MS Press how-to book which includes the trial version on CD. That ought to solve both problems for $35.
