Using an older document as a template, I made a few changes to a letter, saved the new document, and hit the print button. Immediately (and, might I add, without the Print Dialog Box ever showing up) the “Normal” Style in my document decided to update itself in such a fashion as to cram all of the letters from each line of text into a single left-aligned space.
Hitting Undo did not fix the problem. Closing the file (without re-saving) and reopening it achieved nothing. The text is all still there – I can view it in Draft mode or by changing it to a Style not based on “Normal”.
Even worse, this superimposed mess is now the default “Normal” in most of my Word documents. I’m a savvy-enough user to work the problem out – eventually – but I simply don’t have the time to waste on what was supposed to be a five minute task. Has anyone else come across this problem (it’s not in the character spacing dialog, BTW)? More importantly, does anyone know how to fix it?
Much thanks in advance.
