Muad'dib vs. Vader

Only in that f$%&*#ing David Lynch movie. Which also featured “Weirding Modules.”

In the book, what the spice did was give navagator’s the ability to safely pilot FTL ships. The precog nature of the spice allowed navigators to see a ‘safe’ path through space. It did not allow the imbibers to actually do the FTL travel.

Yeah, what Narile said.

And furthermore, in the book, the “Weirding Way” was essentially martial arts. It had nothing to do with modules that turned the sound of a voice (not the Voice, just a voice  ) into a Death Ray.

And speaking of the Voice: In order for the Voice to work, it has to set up just the right frequency of brainwaves in its victim. Which means its victim must be able to hear it clearly and unfiltered. Would Vader’s helmet have shielded his brain from the mind-control effects of the Voice?

Of course, you’re right, tracer. I did confuse the book and the movie. It’s been a while. Still, Muad’dib is the contestant with whom I’d prefer to have a beer, so he wins.
