I was just watching the news here in sunny Orlando, FL and heard
something about firefighters fighting mud fires. Supposedly
this is when fires burn underneath the mud (under the ground?).
Has anyone ever heard of this before? I’m pretty sure it is on of
the “signs” that the world is coming to an end…

Funny you should bring that up as our news discussed this in detail last night only I was only half paying attention.
I think what they are referring to is not a “mud fire” but a fire that actually does work underground.
They spoke of the different levels of fires that happen in a forest. One of those works, I assume with the organic matter that is in the soil.
This might be one of those questions for GQ, aka bringing up the different levels (I think four in all) of a forest fire.
