Muldoon's Squishiness

I’m not actually ranting, this is just the forum for this.
Could someone point me to the thread were the above mentioned poster was banned and why?

Most of his stuff I read was interesting, and I thought he might actually be a cool poster.

I don’t think he was banned for anything in a thread; rather, he was a sock. A mod will be along shortly to point out that this sort of thing is usually better handled by email.

I surmised it was probably better handled by mail, though I thought perhaps a discussion was in order.
A sock? Why?

Feel free to close this thread, mods.
I apologize.

A mod explained in an earlier thread that he was a sock for WSLer.

Any discussion that needs to happen should be done in email. This is for the privacy of the banned poster as much as anything else. What’s more, we don’t listen to pleas of “Unban Poster X” from third parties. Poster X will have to apply for reinstatement him/herself.

For the Straight Dope

Ok. I got from the december and thaidog threads that a Pit thread could be started.

Apologies.

December was something of a special case. He was a very long-term, very controversial poster, and his banning was a fairly controversial decision. It was something that affected the community as a whole, so the powers that be allowed a discussion thread to run as long as it stayed pretty clean and above the belt.

The thaidog thread isn’t so much a request for reasons behind the banning as it is a continuation of a board joke. Presumably, the only reason it’s still open is that it’s a bit of fluff that doesn’t invade anyone’s privacy.

And threads can be started, but the mods and admins prefer that we don’t. If you have questions, they prefer that you ask them privately. If you have a complaint, or feel that the banning was unjust, a thread bitching about the situation is usually okay. They’d really prefer you to handle that privately, too, though.
