Multi-destination GPS Advice, Please?

On a recent trip to Pittsburgh, we discovered the beauty of a GPS when alternate routing is necessary. However, not having current maps was a pain in the arse.

Rather than update the maps on my older TomTom, I think that a replacement GPS is in order. For my job, I require multiple destination route planning. I want the ability to enter 5 to 7 addresses and have the GPS calculate the most efficient route.

I’ve tried to Google and apparently I’m stuck in a time warp because all of the forums and discussions Google could find were from 2006 through 2008.

Your thoughts?

The Garmin nuvi 760 has route optimisation.

From the website:
In addition, nüvi 760 automatically sorts multiple destinations to provide an efficient route for errands, deliveries or sales calls.

Email the big GPS companies and see if they have such a product available.

Just to add… in google you can select a date range to search from.

If you run your search and then select “More Search Tools” on the left-hand side of the page, you can choose results from the last day, week, month or year, and add a custom range (e.g. March-September 2009).

The Magellan RoadMate 1475T also appears to have route optimization included:

“Multi-destination routing with route optimization lets you plan your trip with multiple stops in the order you want or optimize a trip for the most efficient route, saving you time and money.”*
