Multiple gunshots in Alexandria Virginia at the Congressional Baseball Practice.

Kind of James Bond of the GOP representatives and their team- they are tough enough to take a bullet, regroup and then take out the insane Bernie Bro villain. Way to go, good-guys-with-guns-who-stop-bad-guys-with-guns.

But please, everybody, stop with the random violence. Your personal crisis, your ideas about your identity or the identities of other people- none of this is any excuse. Terrorism and murder just don’t help anybody.

Seconded! And our political leaders – of any stripe – should not use violent rhetoric when calling for political change. (To their credit, few do; but some do.)

BTW, Fox News has a video that a bystander recorded on a cell phone. It’s not particularly graphic, but you can hear ~60 gun shots and see a person (presumably Scalise) laying in the grass, so viewer discretion advised.

True, the hysterical left insists that only conservatives do.

True, despite what braindead liberals (oxymoron, I know) “think,” Hilary won’t suddenly become President if Trump were fired.

I don’t think the person recording realized just how close some of the fire was coming to him. You can hear several distinct whistles of bullets passing nearby.

I was also not too surprised that the shooter was a Bernie supporter but I think you are looking at this the wrong way around. Rather than thinking what is it about Bernie supporters that would make one take out a gun and start shooting Congressmen, (the answer being nothing at all given that 99.9999% or Bernie supporters don’t do this.) The question should be which candidate is a homicidal anti-Republican radical likely to vote for. The answer is probably the one with the most radical anti-republican stance.

Blaming Bernie for this makes as much sense as blaming trench coat manufactures for Columbine.

Please share where you’re seeing that GOP reps helped take out the shooter. Everything I’ve read indicates that Capital and local police took him out. I’m not seeing anything “James Bond” about hiding in the dugout, which is of course the normal “flight” response in this type of situation.

An interesting question.

Not even remotely blaming Bernie, whom seems like a really decent guy on a personal level, and one who generally tries to - and mostly succeeds - take the high road.

On the other hand, I know a number of Bernie supporters, and they do not all take the measured, statesman-like approach. There’s some RAW fury out there, and maybe, yeah, your interesting question is highly appropriate.

Sorry, didn’t see the mod note…just wanted to play with numbers.

Warning issued for being a jerk.

“braindead liberals (oxymoron, I know)” is a compliment, no?

I thought the same thing. From time to time, I see videos where, to me, everything about the situation says “RUN!!!”, and yet, the videographer is sticking around to record. Maybe I’ve just got a lower risk tolerance than other people, or care less about my social media standing, or maybe they don’t realize just how much danger they were in. I don’t know what it is.

One thing for sure - those do not sound anything like “pop pop pop”.

My guess would be 7.62x39, which also seems like the right caliber selection for someone of his political persuasion.

Proximity (or lack thereof) and intervening objects can seriously change the nature of firearms reports. Some of those were very definately rifle shots, which have a different sound to them than your typical pistol shot.

Or .223 - or any of the intermidiate calibers.

Not sure what that means, but one of the news stories says a SKS rifle 7.62 and a 9mm pistol were recovered.

The SKS is an AK-47 pattern rifle. Uses the 7.62x39 cartridge.
HK is implying because it’s the left, they use a Commie rifle.

Pretty sure he means it’s a commie caliber.

Meant HD.
